Welcome to Cecil Amey Hearing Care & Opticians – Norwich

Welcome to our Norwich Optician and Audiologist branch. Our team are highly professional and here to assist you, whether you need a routine eye test in Norwich or have other hearing or eye concerns.

Our eye examinations check your vision and eye health. Advanced Eye Examinations include retinal photography and an OCT scan, which provides detailed images of the retina. Private and NHS-funded sight tests are available, depending on eligibility; see our fee guide for additional services and charges.

We offer contact lens assessments and aftercare, and our Norwich Dry Eye Clinic assesses dry-eye symptoms and helps plan their management. Dry-eye appointments are separate from a routine eye test.

Our audiology team provides hearing health checks and tests, advice on hearing aids, and ear wax removal. Hearing appointments are for over-18s.Call our Norwich Opticians to arrange the right appointment.

How do I book an eye test in Norwich?

The Forum is the nearest parking, a few minutes’ walk from the opticians.

What should I know about access for your eye or hearing test in our Norwich branch?

Our testing rooms are located downstairs. While we don’t currently have a lift, we’re committed to making your visit as comfortable as possible. If you have mobility concerns or specific access needs, please call us on 01603 626346. before your appointment so we can discuss how we can help and make arrangements to support you.

How Quickly Can I Get New Glasses?

Our glasses are built for durability and are available for pickup in approximately 2 weeks from the point of order to collection. The exact time depends on your prescription and the lenses you choose, and we’ll give you a collection date when you place your order. Once your glasses are ready, we will send confirmation via text or email to arrange your collection. We’ll check the fit and make any adjustments while you’re here, so allow up to 15-20 minutes extra for your appointment.

If you need your glasses urgently, for example because you broke your only pair, just let us know when you order. We’ll do our best to speed up the process, though this isn’t always possible with more complex lenses.

Do You Offer Designer or Specialist Frames?

We do! Our glasses collection can help you during regular activites, hobbies and even sportswear so that you can carry on completing your activites.

For everyday use, our range includes lightweight, comfortable frames that are easy to wear all day. If you enjoy hobbies such as reading, gardening, crafts or gaming, we offer lens options like blue light filtering or anti-glare coatings to help reduce eye strain.

For sport and outdoor activities, our sports eyewear features impact-resistant lenses and wraparound frames so your glasses stay secure and protect your eyes while you move. Many of these styles are also available with prescription lenses, polarised lenses or UV protection.

Do You Offer NHS Funded Eye Tests?

Yes! Across our branches, we offer NHS-funded eye tests. You might be entitled to have your eye test fully covered by the NHS, or provided with a voucher that you can present to us at Cecil Amey.

Do You Provide Contact Lenses and Fittings?

Yes! Our contact lenses are popular for our customers who are consistently on the move, and need another alternative to glasses. We offer a range of contact lenses including multifocal, cosmetic, gas permeable and daily disposable are some options we have available. You can receive an assessment by our team to ensure your transition from glasses to contact lenses is seamless. You can explore more details here.
